Plasterer

Hi, again.
I am a plasterer trained in the UK, I am hoping to find work out here around the Costa Blanca (north), but can't seem to get a start, anyone know of a decent website or alternative?

hi, there really isn't much plastering in spanish houses as the spanish usually render in a rather haphazard way. To make it look ok you just avoid shiny paint finishes as it looks awful.
All construction has pretty much ground to a halt so its nothing personal, when money is tight peoples priorities are food, mortgages, fuel etc.
Its going to get worse before it gets better as interest rate rises will put a further squeeze on what little disposable income there is.
Sorry to be -ve but its reality I am afraid.
Good luck anyway, hope something turns up for you.

We recently had our lounge re-plastered. Our 'regular' Bulgarian did it for us.
He charges 5€ per hour.
His son, who is also a trained plasterer, has moved to London, where he earns good money. He sends a lot of the money to Spain, for his wife and baby, who still live in Valencia.

Having spoken to some of them, there is very little work for them now as the construction industry is at an almost complete stop.
Not good news I'm afraid - but this is the reality of Spain at the moment.

thanks one and all, not the best news ever, but the reality is pretty much the same in the UK, constantly undercut by incoming labour willing to work for next to nothing, oh hum.

What can we do?
I want my place plastered in Yeso. But I might even have to do it myself. (Not having a wad of money or a friendly Bulgarian!)
