Default places to visit

Hi. We have a holiday apartment in Tavira and visit several times a year. We sometimes come over to Ayamonte but wondered if there was anywhere else worth a visit. Is Niebla worth a drive or ? anywhere on the coast or inland. Also we have been a bit unlucky when having lunch in Ayamonte. Can you recommend anywhere for tapas or cake/ coffee/snacks? We don,t usually want a restaurant meal when we visit. Thanks.

Hi, Niebla is indeed well worth a visit as it is a wonderful old walled town. Other places you could try are El Rocio, Seville, La Rabida and quite a few more depending on how far you want to travel.

As for places for Tapas etc La Puerta Ancha (Laguna Square) is very good. Regards Bryony

I have to agree with that, if you drive a bit further El Rocio & Sevilla are great places to visit. Or perhaps upriver Sanlucar de Guadiana, Alcoutim, etc.

For tapas in Ayamonte Puerta Ancha is good, but their cooking is a bit different (in a good way). Try La Lola on Laguna square, very good value!
