Been a while folks but just thought I would remind you all of the Festival in La Villa this weekend. The donkey race is a must. And of course for all of you here in Sept we have Ayamonte Angustias Festival.

Hi Michaelh,

The posters (carteles) of the fiestas are worth a look at, too.

Came across this poster of the XXIII Swim across the Guadiana scheduled for the 5th September.
The classifications are posted on the ayuntamiento's website (which has changed server since the end of July BTW):

Thanks Jur,
Great poster they really put some effort into these events. We arrive on the 8th so will get to enjoy and visit the fiesta a couple of times, will they still have the big stage and bars/resto's on the market ground?.

Ken.

Hello Ken, your question confuses me, if there would be no bars, no places to eat and no big stage there would be no fiesta, right?

Not sure if this has been posted already before, but after the success of the summer handicraft markets the Ayuntamiento have decided to have a monthly arts&crafts market. Every 1st Saturday of the month on Laguna square, so this Saturday the first one from 10 to 2.

Also, if you´re a craftsperson (Angiescarr?) come down to talk to the organisation to get a stall for the future markets, they´re not expensive.

Sorry, the market starts at 11 and will officially be untill 9 in the evening. Not every stall holder will be there in the afternoon so I´m guessing it´s best to go in the morning.

The Ayamonte one seems to have died a silent death.

But we always enjoy the one in Fonte do Bispo, 35 min drive and food and drinks availaible at the Quinta.
