Default pet passport

I found our little dog by the bins and took him in. I had him chipped and got his pet passport . He had his rabies injection last year and last week i took him for his next rabies jab and and the vet said he should have a tick and worm jab ? which he had. I told her I am taking my dog to UK after xmas and what would I need to do and she said "nothing, its all done" BUT my brother said he should have blood tests done, have tried to call dera? but was on the phone for ages and couldnt get through, just hope that I have enough time to get stuff done, I went back to the vets last night but the english speaking vet was not there and my spanish isnt very good, oh what a nightmare

Dogs do have to have a blood test.
We emigrated to australia and friends who had a dog and were coming over had to have theirs done and I think it will be the same for UK, best to check on the uk quarantine website though.
Sure it will be plain sailing as it was done ages ago

He has to have a blood test to say e rabies is ok, then when it comes back clear it gets written into his passport, you wont get into the UK without this being done.

if he had a blood test last year after his rabies vac and it was ok and now he's had his booster you should be fine. However, if he's never had a blood test he needs one now and even then he can't enter UK without going into quarrentine until after 6 months from the blood test results.

Don't forget the tick and tapeworm treatment must be done between 24 and 48 hours before leaving.

We came back to UK last Saturday from spain. our 2 dogs had to have their jabs for rabies then a blood test, then had to wait 6 calender months before they could travel, but if you had a blood test last year hopefully they'll be able to have the booster and be ok.
