Partido Podrido
La mierda has finally hit the fan. Top PP politicians, including President Rajoy, have been receiving backhanders in plain brown envelopes from undeclared donations since 1990, and El Pais has published the evidence. They are still denying it though. Do you think anyone will believe them?

This has been around for a while now, it's been in BBC, The Guardian, FT, CNN etc. After Barcenas was shopped by the Swiss for having salted away millions, looks like he is not going down on his own. Could take the whole PP cúpula with him. Seems 70% of the donations to PP were illegal as well, businessmen looking for, or grateful for special treatment. ie bribes.

There is a big meeting going on at the moment where they are attempting to get their story straight.
It reminds me a bit of the MPs expenses scandal in the UK which did have a massive impact - it practically destroyed any remaining trust amongst the electorate.
Shame there is nobody fit to take over if this lot do have to resign ...

Most are in denial, or blissfully unaware what is happening in Spain outside of their Brit abode. Spanish politics doesn't figure large in the Sun or the Mirror. Bit like the horse meat, it managed about three pages when it was happening in UK, but not a peep about the Spanish horse burgers.

considering he has moved €millions from Switzerland to "invest" in South America, has declared some and paid the necessary fines in Spain, who do you believe the man who has admitted he has the money in his bank accounts or those who say they didnt get a penny.??
so to say at this stage "they have been receiving" is perhaps stretching the truth just a little bit ? ?

There is a e-petition calling for resignations. You can sign it if you want by going in to BBC News and clicking on the link. I have.

and I thought it was just a claim by a crooked politician who has had over 2 years to sit down and make up these documents before releasing them.

El Pais have today published twenty years worth of secret accounts showing these undeclared payments. You must be the only person in´the country who is in any doubt!

No doubt it's all part of an evil conspiracy.
Personally I can't for a single moment understand why anyone should ever even consider questioning the integrity of Spains faithful, trustworthy and impeccably honest politicians, any more than I can understand why they should ever question your various other posts which clearly prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Spanish economy is at present booming like never before.

Re: Partido Podrido
It is not a question of the PP, in fact it is a question of all the parties, at least of the two big parties that are those that have governed these last 30 years. The PP received donations, but it was not of public money. And in reference to the PSOE, are 23 years of PSOE that they have brought the ruin twice to the country (this of Barcenas, in comparison, is a pocket money). In theory, the PSOE it should have disappeared a while ago. I believe that any democracy, at least in western Europe, it had allowed this party, but incomprehensibly it resists in Spain. Also, has also received donations for 60 million Eurus, cannot give lessons
So for the progress of this country, it is necessary to change the political system completely, and to use for the first time a fairrer and more transparent system, with elections with open lists, separation of powers, limit of mandate, and many other things. It is necessary to eliminate of root what there is now, because they have transformed the country into their way of life, a mounted spree among all they and their friends and pals, for enrich to expense of the public treasure
For me it is surprising that the people knows now this reality. I don't vote 13 years ago, to any party, mainly the two big parties. I didn't like, nor when the country was better economically
The corruption, as the racism, doesn't have patente nor nationality. The capitalist system is corruptible, and here an example in Germany

or the Watergate case in United States

Oh, that's OK then! Problem is Lampy, 70% of the donations were illegal, they were sobornos. Of course it's easy to quote cases from other countries, but show me one that has "Más de 300 políticos españoles están imputados en causas judiciales por corrupción" Or one that has something like this,

El 70% de ingresos registrados en los papeles de Bárcenas no cumple la ley, según 'El País'. Los pagos "figuran principalmente a nombre de empresas y empresarios del sector de la construcción, que suelen contratar habitualmente con la Administración", según El País.

Because that nobody forgets, we are in the situation in that we are, for blame of Zapatero. In 1996, after of 15 years of socialist government, the country it was same or worse that now. Aznar arrived, and when leave in 2004, Spain had super-avit. Zapatero arrived. Do I ask, what it is necessary to make, to spend a super-avit in almost 8 years?
