Some people are getting out at ACC mainly because of their own time scale for moving to Spain
ACC was not illegal and politics got in the way and everything had to be changed and planning re applied
It happens in UK......eg...Manchester Casino granted and East Manchester looking forward to regeneration, then cancelled and may still go ahead!
All the Local Councils support ACC and all the final plans are at the Junta [ Regional Local Government] in Seville and are expected to be approved in September
All of us who have bought are sitting on a very nice profit...thank you [ and please do not talk about a property crash....not so at present and even if it did still a very nice profit]
Correct; when people do pull out agents have to repay commission
The small number of Parador's clients getting their money back will not be the cause of Parador's problems [ if any]
No fan of Parador but when any market slows down you have to regroup and adjust
But do not blame ACC

Just how many years has ACC been in limbo? I think life is too short to wait for a dodgy developer.

I have bought 2 properties over the years from Parador Properties (1st in Spain, then in Portugal) and the service, price and quality was excellent. I would recommend trying before judging!

Sorry, but a 20,000 Euro mark up on properties of 150,000 is a bit OTT, and they now only offer a single day of aftersales service. We bought from Parador, but if we had known the full picture then, we would have chosen another agency.

You have to shop around! Advice... dont think that a so called well known firm will give you the best deal!
Do your homework... !!!

I would rather not go into details as to why I know these things as peoples jobs could be at risk. But I know their aftersales staff work hard and I know they are making many redundencies...they just made a huge amount of redundencies last week, and yes, one employee is suing them for unfair dismissal.
The post completions service, where clients are taken to get their padron, Social Security etc, that has all been stopped as since December 2006, unless the client has something in writing.. and now clients will pay 950€ but receive a less concise service than clients that paid the previous 700€ Owners Club fee.
Parador Properties, is only one of many major companies in the Spain that are struggling financially due to a down turn in the current property market. It is not a serious thing to say, it's the truth and most people know this. ........

Talking of Parador is a little unfair to them - and true as it maybe adds to the negativity of the whole situation, does it not?
... another nail in the coffin !

..and now they've just gone into voluntary administration as of this morning
An official statement sent to the offices of OPP this morning from Quay West Communications, Parador’s PR company, reads: “It is with regret that Parador Properties has announced that, due to the downturn in the overseas property market, it has gone into voluntary administration. This does not affect property purchases by any of its clients, as all contracts were made between the individual client and the builder; Parador Properties acted only as an introductory agent.â€

Thought their cars had been a bit absent from the roads recently, used to see them all the time, now only one in the last week or so. We bought from them in 2005, and they WERE agents at that time, as we bought a resale.

That is right about the cars, not just Parador but other big companies. At one time their sales staff in the company cars were buzzing around like mozzies. Every other vehicle on the road was ferrying buyers around on inspection trips. It is a sign of the times.
