Hi,
Just to give you all an update. I am feeling good at the moment, and quite happy. I think i just had a mad moment and now things are looking up. I have been shopping a lot so i think that has helped :) . Well we have 2 weeks and 5 days left and a lot of phoning to do to change thing's etc etc etc. House is looking very empty at the moment and i have a lot of cleaning to do. i.e skirting boards :( Will keep you posted in what happens. Thanks again for all your help and kind words :) xxxxx I've been reading your comments with interest, life here in Spain is so very different to that in the UK, I hope that in 3 years time you will be as happy as myself and my family are!! Yes you will have times, especially in the second year, that you will wonder why the hell you ever thought about selling up and moving to a different country??!! My advice to you would be to take it really slowly in the first 6 months, get the kids settled and try and learn the language asap, take note of other expats, but go with what you think is right, I can tell you from personal experience that fellow expats are more of an hinderance, get to know as many locals as you can, they will make you feel very welcome and introduce you to their lifestyle, if you mix with too many other brits, you will miss out on the very reason you moved over here for!! Try and keep family and friends visits to a minimum in the first 6 months, this will only unsettle you all, parents were are strongest sponsors of us moving here, until they both made their first visit........."your house isn't as big as the one in the UK,it can't be good for the kids to stay up so late, why can't we eat at 6 instead of 9?? isn't cold here(depsite being 25 degrees in the day it always feels colder in the house in the winter as all homes don't have insulation) the schools don't seem to be as good here etc etc etc. It's great having family and friends over, but we both work and the kids go to school, so try and arrange visits around school holidays!!! I wish you and your family the very best of luck, I doubt that you'll need it, you sound as if you've planned everything already, we moved out in less than 15 weeks from our first ever visit to this area!!! Cheers and enjoy, Bamba9 |

As we are moving to a much smaller place  And the kids are going to a spanish school etc etc etc. I am glad you are settled, where are you based? Money wise will be a lot tighter and we will have to pull the purse strings a bit well quite a bit. We have said if it only last's a few years we will be happy but we do hope to make it our home. As for locals we will try our hardest to mix as that is the whole reason of going as well. To learn the new culture and experiance new thing's. xxxxxxxxxxxx |

Re: Overcome with sadness
i dont know who you think you are but i personally find this type of communication totally inappopiate.
If this is how you feel keep your fingers off the key board. So what why people use this forum........you seem to be the one with little to do except insult others. I use this forum for chat, communication, information and relaxation, we all do. You seem to be the only who has these feelings. Perhaps you should consider not taking an interest in what Miss n says. You are just unkind and cruel. |

Re: Overcome with sadness
Is this kind of talk really necessary, I really do think it is quite un-called for and for some reason you seem to be the one with the problem!

Re: Overcome with sadness
I would say you were a teenager. Are you? Or are you younger?
