Apart from the question of security I can't see much wrong with that.

Well if I was paying someone a six figure salary to do a job, I'd expect them to be doing it themselves! It must be a breach of contract apart from anything else.

his company will probably follow his example and outsource the whole workforce to China
outsourcing can work, but when security is involved it usually has its problems as being so remote you rarely manage to keep any control - despite the protestations of the contractor concerned.

I worked with a guy who did this, but he outsourced some of his tasks to India
The problem was he invoiced this work back to our company
Our boss praised his initiative, but said he had to sack him because he couldnt be trusted. Incidently, the employee was American

A company I worked for outsourced a load of coding work to India but it didn't really work very well. In the end we had to ship a couple of the Indians over to the UK to sort out all the problems - probably cost more than was saved.

Incidentally it used to happen in a similar way here a few years ago when people were still building things.
Many times people would contract for a new terrace or garden wall from a Spanish builder only to find that the work was entirely carried out by Romanians.

When we built our house the builder sacked the Spanish plasterer as he was so slow and brought in a team of Argentinians who were amazing. He also used a Romanian electrician.
