Hi all
Which number do you have to ring for a ambulance in spain in a emergency, as I have come across so many different numbers, also does anyone know If you are a member of sanitas do they have english speaking operaters on the phone if you had to ring in a emergency?

The emergency number is 112, and there will normally be someone who speaks english.
112 is the equivalent of 999 in the UK.

The problem arises when you have private medical insurance and need an ambulance. The 112 number will get you the normal ambulance service which will take you to the nearest hospital, not your private one. For that you will need to call the service provided by your insurer, which is usually straight forward, but no good for an urgent roadside emergency, when someone will naturally call 112.

Hi
I believe 112 works from a mobile phone anywhere in the world and there will normally be an English speaking person available.
