Indeed I did 4.4. Do you know of anyone personally who have had bad experiences and why?
FSCS approved bank.
Far more accounts being blocked on Revolut and Wise. Plus why do people get blocked? Because they perform dodgy transactions.
Barclays UK has blocked me 3 times in the last couple of years. Hours on the phone with them each time.
Any bank can block your account. No bank is perfect. At least I'm being compliant and they are fully approved and regulated.

Also not doing sketchy transactions to countries like China (negative reviews are China related and others like Ghana, Senegal and ones like that). You'll often see negative reviews on digital banks from people who use them to move money around the above mentioned countries imo.

horrible bank with very bad customer services. That aside, they would not open a non-resident account for a friend I was helping.

yep I saw that also - so difficult to find a decent bank these days that provides the services you require. Hence splitting my savings up between various banks, pain in the behind but banks blocking accounts are so common these days so never put all your eggs in 1 basket.
Above someone mentioned not to use ifastgb but where is better? Barclays have blocked my account various times also. They close a lot of branches so are forced to do banking online but then when you do you get blocked for some unknown reason or can't acces a human being to talk to.

With iFast I'll most likely only ever be transfering between myself, from and to Barclays/Starling (which is working fine so far). Nothing overseas (use Revolut and Wise for that).

Actually it's perfectly possible to open an account as a non resident however it's a different process for which it's necessary to call them, it cannot be done online,

As for 'horrible bank' my resident account has served it's purpose well and on the one occasion I did need to call them my query was dealt with promptly and satisfactorily.

Do you have any personal first hand experience or are you just parroting something you've read somewhere?

Just got the email. Honestly thought they got their license last year!
I wonder what the 'Next steps' will be. At least they are not sending out new cards!

Your account and card details will stay the same, and you’ll still be able to access all the benefits of Revolut.

What happens next?

Nothing will change for your account right away, and you’re not yet a customer of Revolut Bank UK Ltd.

We’ll reach out when we’re able to move customers to our UK bank — and walk you through next steps for transitioning your Revolut e-money account to a bank account.
