No satellite signal being received....????
It's all very well when you decide not to go down any of the dodgy, legit, or whatever routes to remain with a full Sky system, but I pulled the plugs earlier today (son playing up, usually works...) & now I've put it back (no card for several weeks successfully) it's refusing to work. Now, having fallen out with my 'skyman' I've no-one to ask when something goes wrong!
Tried all kinds, loose scarts, loose satellite input, you name it, did get the time & date on the display at one point but not now.....
Anyone any ideas? Pretty please? Irate teenage daughter here for 3 weeks potentially without soaps

you may have to help the digibox boot up by getting it to look for a strong signal for the information it needs to boot up.
the normal frequency of 11778 can be tricky to get in spain, and depends on dish size also.
so you sometime have to help the box boot up by asking it to get this information from another frequeny...
instructions as below.
1. Remove the power cable from the Digibox only. This can be found on the back of the Digibox, and is normally a black cable on either the extreme left or right of the Digibox. Reinsert the power cable after 30 seconds.
2. Turn on the Digibox.
3. On the Sky remote control press the SERVICES button
4. On the Sky remote control press 401 (four zero one) and then the SELECT button.
5. If the above has been done correctly you should see the Installer Setup Menu screen. If you do not see the Installer Setup Menu screen then start this process again.
6. Press “2” on your Sky remote control.
7. If done correctly should be looking at the Default Transponder screen.
8. On the Sky remote control press 12129 (one two one two nine). This will change the default FREQUENCY to 12.129.
9. Ensure that the default POLARIZATION is “V”.
Ensure that the default SYMBOL RATE is “27.5”.
Ensure that the default FEC is “2/3”.
10. On the Sky remote control press the DOWN ARROW button three times and then press SELECT. This will SAVE NEW SETTINGS and return you to the Installer Setup Menu screen.
11. On the Sky remote control press the BACK UP button until you exit all the menus.
If done correctly the time will appear on the white bar, and picture will shortly reappear – try channel 501 (Sky News).
Sometime you may have to do this process a few times, but normall, if the rest of you satellite system is working ok then this will do the trick

Re: No satellite signal being received....????
Thanks, and yes it's working....however what I don't understand is now we have a constant 'searching for listing' on all channels and even when you go into 'all channels' on menu, virtually all say searching for listings. You can't right click to see what's coming up later on any given channel....
any further thoughts?

Re: No satellite signal being received....????
the data ffor the EPG (programme guide) comes from one frequency - 11778.
and as this frequency is difficult to receive at certain times of the day, the box cannot locate the data it requries for the programme guide and so shows "searching for listings".
