New Friends in Spain
My name is Jane. I am a Scottish girl living in Madrid. I came to the Spain in the summer to improve on my Spanish. I studied Spanish at classes at SALT in the center of Edinburgh - and since I have been here I have been able to fine tune my Spanish. I would like to meet up with some other British girls or English speaking girls that are in Madrid.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.
BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.
Please let me know if you need any further help.

Re: New Friends in Spain
Welcome from a Scot in Spain, a short tempered, grumpy nit picker to boot the result of trip to UK, not quite as plan, within a day of returning full of ear nose and throat bug then end up with small fracture to a wee toe. Confined to chair one floor up but not for long !
Anyway I want to query why ScottishinSpain ? was the link for Scottish language lessons....... that would be hilarious or Scottish goods ? if so can you get me Galloway cheddar ? I would kill for some of it today.
PS not in Madrid, way down south, separated from Portugal by the river. Stunning view

Ha, no it wasn't for Scottish language courses; although I'm sure I could teach those classes
The link was for the Spanish class that I took in Edinburgh - It's SALT Edinburgh: http://www.saltedinburgh.co.uk/
I do miss a lot of Scottish food too; there are supermarkets here where you can get British food, but not Galloway cheese unfortunately.

Re: New Friends in Spain
My mum does send over some food for me, but I'm starting to get used to the Spanish cuisine.
