My daughter has broken out in a huge rash...no way to know if its as simple as a heat rash or as serious as the measles without seeing a doctor. Problem is her SIP card has expired since April and I dont have a new one.
My question is, will a doctor still see her in the centro de salud even though her card has expired? Also, could I take her to a private doctor (she has cystic fibrosis and I have heard of a great GP who specialises in lung diseases) without a valid SIP? Anyone any idea how much a trip to a private GP costs?
Thanks!

I would take her to the health centre and ask for a new SIP. Regardless of whether it is renewed I am sure she will be seen quickly...rashes can be dangerous.Id get along there now if I were you.

I think you need to get the SIP problem sorted out, leaving your child without valid health care must be extremely worrying, especially if she suffers from cystic fibrosis!

Thank you both for the reply! Mitzyboy i'm going to take her to the centro and hope that they wont refuse to see her. The card is just 4 weeks out of date. Hopefully when we are there they will sort out getting a new one. Because she has cystic fibrosis we rarely see a GP, just her consultant in the hospital. They dont ask to see the card there since they have the number recorded so it is never an issue.
