I need to know an approximate cost of buying a second hand car about the size of a Toyota Yaris, Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 or 1.6, petrol, manual, up to 10 years old. We will be moving to the Malaga area soon.
I know we also have to allow for insurance and fuel costs, but just need a figure ASAP.
Thank you.

Your best bet is to google second hand car garages in that area.

That's too expensive - think nearer €2000 if you go for a Corsa.

Hola
Just a thought - all "cheap" cars have been scrapped under plan Pive - got rid of a lot of cars

Hola
That was a particularly unhelpful answer!!! Plan Pive is a scheme (still going I believe) to scrap cars ten years old or more when you buy a brand new car. The original scheme guaranteed 1,000€ from the dealer and 1,000€ from the government.
When I did mine I got 2,000€ for my 10 year old Yaris (with 300,000 Kms on the clock) but I believe it has now been reduced to 1,500€. However a lot of the cheapy end of the market has disappeared.

Yes, it is now only €1500, but more important is that the new car must have CO2 emissions of less that 120gm/km.
You must also have owned the vehicle for at least a year and it must have a valid ITV, so buying a wreck for €100 is not an option.
