Exclamation Need help with Movistar

So I moved to Spain not that long ago..
And everything was good, until I realized that I can not
accesses my 192.168.1.1 page.

It just says "wrong password" every time I try to put my password in there.
Yes, my password is right, and I use that password on my computer and other
devices and it works perfectly fine.

But when it comes to home station page (192...) it just
says wrong password!

On the bottom they say "if you forgot you password you should
reset the modem..." That's what I did, and....
Nothing happend. I retyped my password into computer, it was the same.
But when I tried to type it in home station, it said wrong password!

I'm very confused, I would want to say that I use cable to connect my modem with my computer, and I tried to to login when I was without the cable, it was the same.

So please, if anyone knows how to help, then
please.
I could of called Movistar, but I don't speak Spanish very well.

So please, I will be waiting for responses.
(And yes, I do need to get on home station page)

Why are you trying to log on to the router? This should only really be done by a specialist.

If you change the home page to something else (blank for example, or google.com) then you will be able to browse the internet in the usual way.

Or have I misunderstood you?

Probably in someway.

What I said, is that I need to get to the page of router settings (if it's can be called that way), but I can't, because it rejects my password.

I have no idea if it will help or not but the English speaking number for them is 1002. I also have no idea where you are but apparently there is in Sevilla a shop that deals with 1004 problems i.e. technical ones. I also have no idea if they speak any English there. I will more than likely have to have a trip there in Oct !

If I've understood you want to log in to the router to change some parameters (well I hope its to change something)

Most routers come with a default password which people should change once the router is set up. Its just a suggestion but try things like 'admin' or '1234' or '9999 or '0000' or even the notorious 'password' failing that, google your the make of your router and maybe you will find the default password

I know there is a site somewhere (cos I needed it years ago) which lists all the default passwords for routers

The movistar password and username is (normally) either admin and admin or admin and <nothing>.

Sometimes they will NOT let you change these parameters because they don't want to be called out when it goes wrong. So, with all due respect, unless you really know what you are doing, it should be left alone.

I cannot access mine unless I am hard wired. ( Helps prevent people nearby trying to access it )

However mine's not a Movistar router

OK.

I certainly can with mine - both hard-wired and WiFi. I can even get into my son's router (both ways) and that's fibre optica.

... now you've got me worried. I've just taken a look at ours and can't see how to change the default router username and password.

Anyone know?

So when you put 192.168.1.1 into your browser what screen do you get, is it a screen with a field for Username and another field for Password ?

Oh and resetting the router does not reset a password normally, I think its its mainly to clear log jams etc.

To set the password back to the default one you would need to either restore the firmware from a security copy or download a new firmware and as part of the upgrade set a new password.

Is the message 'if you forget your password etc' in English or are you translating it from Spanish ?

No, Movistar lets you swap languages.

The page looks like normal page, where you have already all kinds of menus, but when you try to click on them, it says "insert youre HOMESTATION password" which means, my modem password.
