Question Nearly there!!

Have packed up nearly all the kids toys and clothes that we dont need for the first few weeks, also my Dyson as my friend said they are mega bucks in Spain. Also have two boxes of food etc that we MUST HAVE Pizza Express dressing I dont think I could survive without it.

So my pallett is leaving on Tues, and we are flying out Weds evening, OH is coming over next Sat for 4 days to settle us in and see the older ones into their new school. I am bordering on hysteria and tears!! I know that I am doing the right thing but its the fear of the unknown.

Did any-one else feel the same? My kids have never had so much fun with cardboard boxes!!

Oh Bless you, wish I could help!! Its daunting enough a prospect with 1 child, let alone 5!!
I am sure you are doing the right thing, of course you'll be very nervous,it wouldn't be normal if you weren't!
I can see you point on the pizza express dressing!! lemon and watercress yum!!
All the luck in the world to you all, just remember you are doing what is the best for you all, especially your children, their lives will be so much freer, they'll be able to play outside, not end up x-box children as is the danger in rainy U.K!!
Keep us all updated!!!

Thanks silverchick, im cooking a roast dinner at mo. and having a nice glass of wine, we are off to a party tonight so I shall be telling all the school gate mums that I shan't be returning. my best friend in Javea said it was raining there today, but at least it's not dark and miserable. How did the 2nd viewing go this afternoon?

Do what we did! Always keep this thought in your mind....No matter what it's going to be like in Spain, no matter how hard it's going to be.......it's got to be better than being in the UK!
And it is! By a very wide margin! A better life for you and hubby.....and a hell of a better life and future for your children.
It's not an easy road, and you're going to have to dig deep.....but it's worth it in the end.

Big ((((hugs)))) to you. It's only natural to feel nervous, you are a caring mum of 5 after all. But just think of yourself in a just over a week's time, feet up, big smile on your face, glass of wine in hand in your new home, happy kids, happy OH and happy you! And you've already got friends there to welcome you. . . . ooooo I'm envious too

Nats xx

We would love to do what you're doing, but can't ... not just yet anyway ... middle daughter is just going in to year 10 (so would not be fair to move her now) and hubby isn't in a position to take early retirement/be a consultant yet (unfortunately). I would move tomorrow if I could - my 4-year old has already asked when he's starting school in Spain??? I certainly haven't mentioned it to him - he's just decided for himself!

Best of luck to you all
Sharon

It feels very strange going off with no return ticket, and a bit frightening, but then it is a huge adventure. Good luck for the move.

You will be ok. We understand how you are feeling - it's scary and exciting all at the same time - so many emotions. Think positive and make a list of things you need to do. I put a thread up asking everyone to give me tips on things to do before I left, it helped

Have a great life in Spain and stay on the forum so you can tell us how things are going once you get here
