What no one has picked up upon is the fact we don't have many members on BE at all. ALL the other posters are ME in disguise :D :D :D

I get bored sometimes and like to talk to myself.

In fact everyone who has posted in this thread is infact ...... ME!!!!!

<evil laugh> :lol::lol::demon:

Its arrogance is that, instead of just accepting that some people don't share their views they firmly believe that everyone, and no doubt me including, has several alter egos on BE and they use them to form cliques....

Now I'm off to walk the dog, or could I be creating an alibi for when I log in as Mitzy (ever notice how we don't ever appear at the same time? Hmm?) and post YET AGAIN that its best to let the Mods deal with shit we don't know or care about!

you - Mitzy :rofl:

there ARE forums though where mods post as themselves (or whatever alter-ego they choose) & mod as a completely different entity

there was a discussion about this on another forum recently & one poster said he mods on a couple of forums where this was the case - they weren't actually meant to post as mods - just enforce the rules - & no-one was allowed to know who they were

he thought it odd that the mods on that forum were 'people' who were allowed to actually join in discussions & have opinions

I can't see the point myself - must be very confusing :confused:

Aren't forums a bit like our locals?

We go in the Victoria to meet like-minded people; in the Coach and Horses for politics, the Three Crowns for the crumpet in the back bar, and the Butchers for a fight.

Those four pubs actually exist on a 100-yard stretch of a High Street in London.

I'm aware that happens on other communities and that's fine for them, but personally I feel the issue with that is that it makes the moderators unaccountable for their actions and it's not transparent. Eg If a moderator has a discussion with a member privately, via say PM, about a situation that's happened in the community how does the member know who they are conversing with?

We are who we are here, and we are easily indentitifiable and I think that's the best way.

Except of course for me, because I am the all seeing eye and have multiple usernames across this site so I can cause havoc and mayhem where ever I go :rofl: <another evil laugh> :demon:
