Default MP for the Dominions?

I saw in the paper that UKIP is proposing that there should be an MP for the British Overseas territories eg Gibralter, Falklands etc! Any thoughts?

Apparently France has an MP for GB because there are so many French living in the UK - although UK doesn't permit voting from expats

News to me about France, l looked it up, apparently there are 11 constituencies for overseas French around the world. UK is in the North Europe one.

Its a great idea. I thought the UK did allow voting for up to 15 years abroad

Are they going to include the Costa del Sol?

If any other political party made this proposal, it would be regarded as gerrymandering.

if any other party raised this subject there wouldn't be a heap of people rolling on the floor and ridiculing it.

There are some things I do not agree with in the UKIP manifesto, but there are also one or two less radical things in BNP and EDL that could be seriously considered.

Irrespective, the suggestion(s) are being made to protect Brits and their Dominions which would give better justification for the expense of keeping a (small) military force in the Falklands until such time as the population decide they don't want the UK.

And as to voting - all expats have the right to a postal vote for 15 years after leaving the UK, but how many have exercised that right ??
