Default Movistar SIM card

I have a movistar phone and SIM (PAYG) but havent used it for 2 years so it has been de-activated. Can I just buy a new SIM card from Movistar shop? Need to have a mobile number for Monday!

Yes but you'll need your NIE etc. before you can buy one.

If you take your old sim and preferably the card with puk number etc to a movistar shop you may be able to get it "re-activated" This will save you paying for a new sim.

Thanks for your replies. It seems it isn't possible to re-activate the card (no real surprise there) so I have the choices of buying a new SIM card or looking at current "deals" which may offer a phone,SIM and credit for similar initial outlay.

Would welcome any suggestions on networks and good offers! Thanks

You can`t re activate a dormant sim after a certain period of time because they resell the number.

If you haven't used it for two years you might find it a good deal to get a new phone with the new card - they are now under €10.

Thanks for that! Had no idea they could be so cheap. Could you perhaps tell me which supplier that is?
