Default Movistar ADSL upgrade via a "bucle"

I received a telephone call from Movistar (965993264) on Friday asking whether I would like to transfer my ADSL to them to receive a better speed. At present I am receiving about 0.8MB and they tested my line whilst I was taking to them and said I could have a minimum of 3MB. I questioned this as I have tried to upgrade on a couple of occasions and was always told that my line wasn't capable of receiving any more. They said that they are trying to improve the situation in my area and can provide the better speeds with the aid of a "bucle". Said I would think about it. Subsequently called 1004 who knew nothing about the increased speed or 'bucle' (not unusual for 1004!!). Googled the phone number and it seems to be a suspicious number, some spanish sites referring to them as grifters! Anyone got any knowledge of this situation? Anyone given their details to them on the phone? Any input gratefully received.

if Movistar phone you it never shows as a 965 number - istr getting calls from 1004 & maybe a 900 number? - if googling says it's a scam number then it most probably is

Tks for that. Thought it would be interesting to see whether others had received such a call or whether this is a new scam. Worth bringing to general attention as the call sounds VERY professional and genuine and I'm sure it would be easy to be sucked in.

googling the number came up with endless forum references to it being a scam - so it's a safe bet that it is - some of the references were at least a couple of years old
