Default Moving Stuff back to UK

Hello All

We currently live in Valencia, and are looking to go back to the UK in July. We don't have a lot of stuff, but still, too much for a plane. Currently we have 3 options to take stuff back.

1. Send it by some kind of courier. Can anyone recommend a good company, that's cheap and reliable?

2. Hire a Van or large car and drive back. Does anyone know a company that does one way hire from Spain to England, relatively cheaply?

3. Find someone who wants their car driven back to the UK at about the right time for us. Does anyone know what websites to advertise on to organise something like this?

I hope someone can help me with these questions.

And thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

John

Hello,

We moved some stuff over to Costa Blanca last October, we sent it over as a part load from the UK. I would imagine the removal company does part loads return as well. Could not fault the company, fair price and excellent service.

If you want their contact details PM me.

I used http://www.way2go-removals.com/home/ to transport a dozen or so boxes over last year

they do full or part loads or self-drive

One way van hire as advertised in the local papers could be an option.

I can give you the name of a reliable mover - he charged me £90 a cubic metre - door to door. PM for details.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

I can recommend this company for a fair and reasonable quote.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

As Lynxxa says, way 2 go are relatively local to you, and you can drop off at depots in the UK. I also will have some stuff to go back in June / July.

John,
Have a look at J One way van Hire.

We saw the vans parked next door to the petrol station in Jacarilla this March.

Hope this helps.

Jim.

I used Jimbo the Scot for my move. He has a website which is easy enough to find. £100 per Cubic metre, which is about 8 big boxes. Will certainly do Valencia I think and anywhere in the UK. Very good service.

If you want to go the Courier route I use Worldwide Parcels quite a lot for stuff from England to here but I've also used them in the other direction.Surprisingly inexpensive.

I too can recommend JimBotheScot. Based in Almeria. I have used him twice to bring part loads over. He does what he says.

I couldn't and wouldn't recommend the bunch that moved us over here. Most were ex convicts and behaved like it with zero regard for our stuff.
