Hi eiss and welcome,

There are some peeps you can listen to and have faith in what they say on the other hand there are peeps like keri who has no idea where he is at the best of time. So my advice to you is stay clear of his advice because if you don't there's a good chance you and your pals will end up in Argentina........

Hopefully when you arrive it will still be early in the season and there should be jobs available for you all and a place to crash. I have no idea of the area you are going to but I wish you all well.

There was a lovely little internet cafe for sale when we were in Moraira a few weeks ago, it was very busy and that was early in the season, there were details for it in an agency that was next door, and it was very cheap! might be worth a search.

I'm most propably not the right person to offer advice on this as I do not work all I can tell you is what we did and did not do, and that was nothing. We did everything once we were here, well except for our NI number, we did that as soon as we bought the house because it made life so much easier. What I will say is if you are starting a business then you will have to be prepared for a mountain of red tape and a hundred and one forms to fill in. There are peeps here that have done it and I'm sure they will help, MnM is our oracle but I think she may be away for a few days, when she comes on line I'm sure she can answer your questions.

Ensure you ahve you releveant health documents, E106 if to be working, E121 if retirement age. Also go to your GP and get a fresume of you medical file so you can pass it on to your Dr here in Sapin.

[F]Hi Mikelinks & all
Interested if you can help us also? We are moving to Almeria in Sept and have had conflicting advise regarding Medical Insurance. We are planning to be Residents and have our E111 cards, but will we need Private Medical Insurance also? If we get residency, does the need for Private Insurance change?
Thanks in advance for everyones help.

Hi grannp

if you are 60 and over an E 121 will cover both you and you husband whatever his age, if you are under 60 but he is 65 it works that way as well, otherwise if you are working in UK as a previous poster has said an E106 will cover you for the first two years or close.

Otherwise it is private care, the EH1C or new version of E111 is really for travellers though I know of people who use them for treatment. Both the E106 and E121 you will have to hand in at the local social security office where you will be living, you will then get a copy to take to the doctor.

Hi eiss,
We are in the same position as you, our house in the UK has sold and we now need to fiind a home in Galicia within 4 to 6 weeks.
I am a web designer and it would be great to find out where your new business will be.
Moral support and all that!!
