Re: Moving to Spain
You 100% do not need a test or be vaccinated to enter Spain from the UK. My son arrived last night so can confirm the rules are being followed. All you need is to complete the health control form which is now online. The only place to get up to date information is the official Ministerio de Sanidad site: Ministerio de Sanidad, Consumo y Bienestar Social - Professionals - Spain Travel Health (mscbs.gob.es) . The UK is a third country on the exception list of page 2 of the annex here: DENOMINACIÓN (mscbs.gob.es) . If travelling from another EU country, you need a negative diagnostic test (PCR) and to complete the form. I came in from another EU country over the weekend and the checks are stringent.
For returning to the UK, you need to follow their guidance. |
Re: Moving to Spain
Yes that’s correct I’ve been on that site. My only worry is that Ryanair abide by this rule too. As I have yet to get confirmation from them at the airport and don’t want to be refused boarding after all my other preparation. ðŸ™

They should, thier own website says this:

Re: Moving to Spain
The whole thing is becoming a mess simply because politicians are effectively saying one thing and doing another. As of yesterday all EU member states can enter Spain with vax proof or PCR test. The UK however is not subject to this rule and can enter with absolutely no documentation relating to Covid. This is because Spain is putting its whole population at risk to save its tourist trade which relies so heavily on UK. They will do everything to manipulate the numbers for the next 3 months before it becomes obvious that a new autumn wave arrives but by then they will have saved the season. We already know that the Delta virus is potentially more contagious and that unless a large number of people are fully vaccinated it will spread exponentially with increased hospitalizations but Spain is now waiting 16 weeks between AZ dosis. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

Re: Moving to Spain
I think in practice it's different. My neighbour had his first AZ 2 weeks ago and is booked for the second in July. My wife is getting the J&J single shot tomorrow so I think Spain and the rest of the EU will accelerate in a race between the tortoise and the hare. The UK politicians are pushing for staycations, in my opinion. When we get to Act III I'm sure the UK will allow vaxed and tested visitors without isolation whilst maintaining their rip off test requirement for Brits returning from the sunshine.

That does not seem to be a nationwide policy, except for those under 60 who received a first dose of the AZ vaccine. I got my first jab on 8th April and was given an appointment for the second one 12 weeks later, on 1st July. A few weeks later I got a text message telling me the second dose would now be given a minimum of 16 weeks later, but it appears that was an error as yesterday I (along with many other people) received a second message telling us that our second dose appointments would be going ahead on the original dates 12 weeks after our first jabs.

I think the Spanish government is risking it because the UK is a hotspot for the the delta/Indian variant. Edit: I've re-read the thread and it turns out I've reposted the same info... I see what you mean now, you mean on the plane itself. Can't answer that. As for vaccines, in Catalonia the second Pfizer dose should be 21 days after the first. |
Re: Moving to Spain
it is a little confusing re the "test to fly "but i live close to Manchester Airport and going to call in tomorrow.
Thanks anyway. |
Re: Moving to Spain
Out of interest, what did they say? Im surprised that you were allowed into the airport without a boarding pass, in malaga you are not allowed, there is security on the door and a massive queing system, like in a funfair.

The Spanish government is stuck between a rock and a hard place. They haven’t got the finances to just keep prolonging a lockdown. Things have to get back to normal or people will literally starve to death. Who’s to say covid won’t be here for the next 10 thousand years.
