Default Moving to Spain

If you were looking in the UK for a firm to remove you to Europe where would you look? Apart from here of course!

Try the expat papers in Spain if you can. Lots of choice but prob better to go by recommendation as there appear to be many sharks around.

We used Britannia Leatherbarrows/Lanes and were very happy with them.

I was really meaning where would you advertise in the UK. Where do people look, not the expat papers of course. A lot of people want one thing or a few boxes moving, not a fancy package.

Check them out.
We have sent our stuff of with them. They have been very helpful when we changed our move date and stored our things. I will update you when get our things if you like?

They only change for the space your items take up as we over estimated by miles and the reduced our bill right down. I think its about £140 per cubic meter

You mean you are looking to start a company up and surveying the situation through this thread.

Not for me, for a friend, and it seems in the spirit of expats to ask for advice. Save money, make money what's the difference?

The problem they would have is that the laws governing removals are the same as for haulage, they would need to hold an international hauliers licence, use taco graphed vehicles and abide by the drivers time directive. Being registered with one or both of the removal company governing body would be a good move.

If he is thinking of becoming like so many of the cowboy removals a one man and his trailer firm then he has far to much competition and hopefully people will learn from others miss fortune, if not good luck to him.

Personally I would hope that each and every non registered, non legal and non accountable man and his van removal firm gets busted and locked up with the keys thrown away, but then again I am very biased and currently taking legal action on a firm that we thought was well above board, seems even with research and a taking what you think are the precautions a well designed website and fancy talk works.
