moving and in need of advice
hello all!
i have recently decided not to go to university and to travel with my girlfriend. she is french and would like to learn spanish, whereas i am british and want to go somewhere which speaks english. we decided that gibraltar is where we would like to go first. we plan on living/working in gibraltar for at least 6 months, maybe a year. the plan so far is to drive there from lille (france) and just see what we can find. im a bit nervous of this and therefore have come here to seak advice.
all advice welcome. thank you
john

Re: moving and in need of advice
maybe that is a bit open ended.
ive checked websites etc for information and all they say is you can work there if your a EU citizen. we both are, but do we need the equivlent of National Insurence Numbers etc (we both have british NI)
also ive herd its better to live in spain and commute but is that really ideal? we dont want to rent a 'lovley home', we only want a place to stay, like a bedsit/flat.
again all advice welcolmed

If you are working legitimately then the tax office in Gib will assign you a tax code and equivalent NI. Property rental rates are much lower in Spain, crossing the border by foot or bike is the best option, however this can take some time if you don't time the flights - ie expect a 15-20 minute wait at the runway.
