Default Moving to Murcia October 2016

As the title states, we have made the plunge and begin our adventure October 2016. I would be interested to meet (cyber meet) people who live in Murcia, if there is anyone. Just to really talk too, get some guidance when we arrive about residency etc. Really just looking to form some cyber roots before we arrive. We are small family, myself (27) my partner (33) and our son (1) we work from home and are taking the plunge. Any cyber friends welcome

Hello! Welcome to Spain :O)

We live UK and Spain and will be increasingly Spanish-side over the next few years. We are in Spain monthly right now. Our house is in the Murcia province (am assuming you meant you are moving to Murcia city?) but we are an hour from there. Murcia is great - I need to explore it more.

Our children are grown up - I am in my early 40s - so little bit older than you but happy to connect and, like you, build some friendships over there. We also work from home.

Congratulations on making your adventure come to life. Do you speak Spanish/learning etc?

Drop me a PM - happy to chat x

Hi, We (hubby and myself) are also looking to move to near Fortuna within the next 2-3 months, we are older than you as in our early 50's with the odd premature senior moments and we too would like to hear from expats in the Murcia region for hints and tips etc.

Neither can we, I have spent weeks looking at property for sale in Murcia areas, but I must admit I'm finding it rather tedious now especially when 90% of the agents don't
bother to reply back to enquires, we did see some last time we were over and loved one in particular so we will hopefully get that one sorted asap, how old are your children?

Aww Murphy1804 So jealous! We are mentally ready now!! I'm 27, Darren is 33 and Oscar is 1! We are renting in a resort Condado De Alhama for 7 weeks whilst we find somewhere to hopefully rent long term.

Martina831 I found the same with the letting agents we spoke too. What is more a bug bear is that their website etc ooze (Contact us for anything, all questions answered) not quite the service we have had so far. Hence why we are going to suss it out face to face!

Our children are 17,14,10 2 girls one boy my youngest the boy. We are renting long term on a golf course in Roldan, we are lucky as our friends are Letting agents so they found us a place straight away, We are signed up for the 11 months to start with but been assured we can roll it over, i'm possibly looking at buying though after the 11 months........... If everyone is managing OK that is. We went and had a look at schools when we were last over in January, and the 2 youngest have both said the prefer the semi private school over the private one, but they have a day testers at each one to help them decide. Hope you all have better luck with your agents

Congratulations on deciding to move to Spain! On a previous thread (http://britishexpats.com/forum/spain...ssible-872143/) you gave the impression you had changed you mind because of the tax consequences. Have you managed to resolve those concerns?

That's good. I have used Blevins Franks in the past and found them to be very good. I used to work in Qatar and so am familiar with your situation. That's why I was concerned when I saw you were planning to move to Spain. If you find things don't work out in Spain (either tax-wise or for any other reason), you can send me a PM and I will give you names of southern European countries where you and your family can live tax-free (legally ).

Hi there my good lady and I finally took the plunge to move to cabo roig on the coast we thought things would be hard to get sorted. But alas with a good lawyer and a couple of friends to steer
us on the right path we now have our nie numbers, residencia, and Spanish bank account all within a very short time indeed.
Would be interested to share hints, tips and any advice with some likeminded people
Adie😀

Hi guys
Just wondering how you were getting on?
Does anyone have any tips for making friends ect?
My partner is wanting us to move across but I'm a bit apprehensive as we have a 5 month old and a 4 year old who's due to start school in September. Just wondering about people's experiences moving with children and how they made friends ect.
Looking online we have seen kings college for our 4 year old so are looking to come across in the new year to have a look around.
Any recommendations for areas to look at renting long term?
Thanks
