Default Moving to Marbella

Hello , I am considering moving to the Costa Del Sol with my wife and 4 year old daughter early next year - My plan is to work in London for 3 days a week and work from home from Spain for the remainder. I have read a lot of negative views on various websites about people that commute to and from Spain, the general view being not to bother ! But I am determined to make this work and intend to eventually work from home full time ( my boss doesn't know this of course !) . I have so many questions but initially I was hoping for sguidance with regards to income tax in Spain. As I understand it as my wife would be living most of the year in Spain , I would become a resident by default, my question is , if income tax is being deducted at source by my UK company , would I be liable to pay income tax in Spain, and if so, how would this work ?

Any comments or guidance would be highly appreciated.

Saludos

Firstly I hope you have deep pockets! Flights from London to Malaga can be expensive. Even on Easyjet they can be £350 at certain times of year e.g. Christmas and Easter. I would think that across the year you would be averaging around £200£250 per flight/week

As you and your family would be living in Spain, and you would be working from Spain two days per week then yes you would need to declare tax in Spain. And actually you probably should be set up in Spain in terms of social security etc. but this will get hugely complicated and you need to consult a Spanish employment lawyer
