Default Moving to Fuengirola

I am a holder of an EU Passport (Ireland) and live in the US. I am thinking of moving to Spain, preferably Fuengirola. I wont be looking for work so thats not a problem. However, what about health care, am I covered automatically or do I need to get residency and if so how do I do that? Many thanks.

You will need private healthcare, unless you work and pay into the system

Assuming you are not retired, then you will need either private healthcare or, if you do work as self employed, you will have to pay €250 a month as an 'autonomo' which will give you access to the Spanish system. To become a resident you will need to prove a certain level of income and that you do have healthcare in place.
