All the places you are looking at are only 10 mins in the car from a very fine coastline so its no great hardship

Hello St George
I have only had a quick look at this thread, so unless I have missed something wouldn’t it be best not to commit yourself re long term rental and schools until your month’s trial is over and you have a work contract? Wouldn’t it be better to come on your own for the month and work out the four weeks and if successful then you can fully commit yourself and your family? It is harder, I know, but Spain is a very unforgiving country.

Hi

Thanks for your advice.

However we won't be committing ourselves until following the months trial. We're not giving anything up in the UK until I have completed the 4 weeks work. My original plan was exactly what you have advised but my wife will not have it any other way!
My wife has previously lived and worked in Spain (Costa Blanca) for nearly 10 years so she knows how harsh it can be. In a way that's why she has decided to come with me during the months trial as she feels I need expert guidance!!

Again, thankyou for your comment.

If the job is in Benitachell then you're best looking there or Teulada. Availability will be better in those places than by the coast although you're not far away. I see Hamiltons have a 3 bed apartment in Puerto Real in Javea Port. That's a nice complex right next to everything you would need, including a school which is on the other side of the road. It's 10 mins from Benitachell.

Hi and thanks 🙂

Ideally we would prefer to find a 3 bed Villa or Town House in Benitachell. Have found a few, one in particular which is just over our maximum monthly rental so I'm trying to negotiate!
If all goes well in the months trial and we decide to make the move permanent we have a family Labrador that we will be bringing back with us so an apartment wouldn't really be a good idea.
Teulada is on our list of potential places to stay, just not in an apartment.

Thanks for your advice though, much appreciated.

A potential property has arisen in Els Poblets, Denia.
Can anyone give any info on the area?

Els Poblets is a nice village but it tends to sprawl out over a very large area.It borders Denia and Ondara. It is slightly further from Benitatchell (Takes me between 30 & 45 minutes) depending on time of day. I am not sure about schools but it is nearer to Valencia and the are more likely to teach in Valenciano. Should you go as far as Els poblets then you might as well look at some small villages more inland as the prices will be cheaper. I am thinking of Beniarbeig & Pedreguer. But that is just me. As you will be coming over on a trial period I would say, just visit the places while you are here. Best of luck.

Yes I think that would be best.

Thanks for the info.

You'll spend the difference between rental prices on petrol. If your work is in Benitachell find something there or in Teulada, is my advice. Teulada is nicer, IMO, much of Benitachell looks like it would benefit from a bulldozing and rebuilding. The best thing about Benitachell is location, it's nicely placed for easy access to Moraira and Javea for days at the beach.

I agree with the poster who said avoid Cumbre del Sol.

Have you had a look on Kyero? Link here: https://www.kyero.com/en/benitachell...baths=2&beds=3

That's to a couple of houses. They're actually put there by Hamiltons. A lot of agencies publish on Kyero.

Very true, my wife has already told me that she's not going to live no more than a 20 min drive from my place of work anyway so it's looking more likely that Benitachell, Teulada or Javea (or near abouts) will be our chosen area.
I suppose we won't really know until we get there and spend some time looking for ourselves. Like I've mentioned in my previous posts a school nearby for our daughter is priority. Then keeping the wife happy is second!! Me, I'll live anywhere after growing up mainly in Tilbury, Essex anywheres a move up market!!
