Can you give me an example of the property costs that are different. The trouble we having is working out our budget and trying to find who to contact about renting property.

I can only go by what's online, but as you can see there isn't too much available on idealista. Prices vary, but seems to be possible to get something decent under €600
Casas y pisos en alquiler en L'Albir-Zona Playa, Alfaz del Pi — idealista

I live in the quiet area of the Rincon area. You make your own choices of how and where you'd like to live and shouldn't listen to 'A lot of people'. If I did that I wouldn't have come at all and would still be working in that factory in the midlands, UK

There has been a programme going on recently which by law the buildings of a certain age have to be restored/Repaired within a given time. I have seen this happening in and around Benidorm

I know Benidorm has a crime problem but what is Albir like and does it have a problem with burglary.

My most recent impressions of Albir is that now it's merely an extension of Benidorm and equally trashy and equally busy.
