Default moving to benidorm

i am coming to benidorm in 2 weeks time with the intention of finding some bar work really cheap acomodation. i dont speak spanish so i'm guessing i will have to work in an english bar of some sort and realise the pay will be lousy but its worth it to get away from here.

i am 30 and am wondering how easy it is to get that type of work out there; i only have a couple of grand to take with me so need to move fast. can anyone help

Hi - I think you need the poster Spainboy to give you some tips - he's managed to keep in employment during the recession (I think he's Benidorm based), and even announced at one point his place was finding it difficult to get someone. He's determined to come back to the UK though, so perhaps you can have his job? I'm sure he can tell you the tricks to look out for.

I work in a local legal office and deal with bars etc. You will find it difficult to get work - English bars etc are closing daily. You will have no problem finding something to rent but bear in mind we are now hitting the summer season - the Spanish tend to put up the rental price and most English estate agents will want you to sign a minimum six month/eleven month contract. (And yes I know that the eleven month rental contract is not legal but it will still be offered)

It isn't going to be easy but if you have an outgoing personality and can charm an owner, then you may be lucky and get a job.

Be prepared to speak to everyone and anyone about work.

You really should of leart some spanish..get some of the basics learnt anyway.

I am taking you are single so you may be OK.

Good luck...
