Hi everyone
I hope you are all well.
We live in the UK, but have Irish Citizenship and Passports. There is myself, our two boys (9 & 7) who have these EU passports, and my wife who is Canadian and only has a Canadian passport. She is currently the CEO of a London Fashion Brand, so highly skilled and paid.
We were really just looking for some general friendly advice about the moving process (official documents to obtain from Barcelona / Spain etc), how easy people found the move and obtaining these documents, areas of Barcelona for families, how you find the lifestyle and how any children adapted (schools etc.)
Kind regards

Hi
Thank you for the reply.
Yes we are looking at a full time move.
My wife could work remotely at her current job, or due to the size of the parent company, there is a possibility of her being redistributed to another brand in Barcelona.
Kind Regards

Barcelona has an English-language section on its website where everything is explained.
Your wife could choose to come on a digital nomad visa (remote working for a UK company), a normal TIE (working for a Spanish company or the Spanish branch of a foreign company), or as an EU family member which probably the easiest for her although you need to be either working, set up as a freelancer (autonomo), a student, or have a regular income like a pensioner. See this page for you and your kids and this page your wife.

I believe the EU citizen needs to show that they are capable of supporting the (non-EU) family member of an EU citizen.

If you think you or a gestor can deal with the paperwork and are willing to pay about €230/month social security (reduced to €80/month for new autonomos but I think that comes to an end in January) all you need to do is be set up as a freelancer, but you don't need to have any income.

Yes, but if the EU citizen is working, freelance, or a student then there's no need for them to prove they have sufficient funds, it's only when they aren't one of those three categories do they need to prove funds.
