Hello,
This is a first time "forum" user, so please be nice haha
My name is Nick, I'm a 27 year old carpenter/project manager, planning to move to Barcelona for 1-3 years, possibly longer. I'm also studying to become a sports therapist, which i practice in my spare time.
I plan to make the move over in the new year, around April-May time. I will be renting a place with my girlfriend and plan to work as close to Barcelona centre as possible.
My girlfriend has a job with a well known printing company which is based in Barcelona and she will be there for a few years.
I'm currently taking spanish lesson and will continue learning in Barcelona while looking for work.
I plan to start off working in a bar or restaurant to improve my spanish, but also look for therapist jobs (spa, gyms, hotels) to do alongside and potentially full time (if possible).
My ideal situation would be to get a job in construction as a project manager, but i realise that will be very difficult with the lack of language knowledge. So i am going to wait until my spanish improves before looking for a job in construction.
I'd would really appreciate any advice anyone has on:
Bar/restaurant jobs.
Therapist jobs.
Carpentry jobs (not urgent).
I'm open to any questions you may have regarding my post and any help will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Nick
