Good luck jean and Andy, have a good journey and hope that you like the area and get an feeling for what you will be looking for and of course wether the business would fit into the area too. There are 2 internet cafes in Competa so no excuses!!!
I am sure you would post if you could but you will be so busy if my trips to have a look around set up bank accounts is anything to go by. But we will all look forward to hearing from you when you get back.
take care , have some fun too.
Luv Eve

Have a safe journey Jean and I hope you find what you are looking for - don't rush into anything you are not sure of though. As a few have said, better to rent first and make sure you like the area.

Have a great time and GET YOUR HOUSE ON THE MARKET! You know the trouble ChrisW and a few others are having selling - come on girl, start the ball rolling

Thanks guys,Lionda we intend renting initially ,I'm hoping to put the house on the market shortly after we return home ,just done the ironing I hate the job but we are already for off Eve we intend to have some fun as well ,its going to be fun trying to find the villa up a mountain track in the dark to start off with, But I'm looking forward to staying there ,I may even be brave and have a dip in the pool first thing in the morning then again maybe not ,we are going to look at a few villa's I have my eye on one especially but whether it will be still available by the time we are ready to move is a different matter but it will give us chance to see what is on the market to rent, its all going to be a learning curve

Remember to take a torch (and check the batteries ) for map reading.

Hiya Jean

I'm so glad to see you are still posting!

I haven't been on here for two days, because we've been busy prior to Keith going away
Now he's gone, and my priority was to reply to your lovely e-mail.
Unfortunately, a visit from the architect this am, and a prospective visit from the electricity company this pm have (and still might! ) get in the way of my good intentions

So, just in case I'm abducted by aliens once I've finished my lunch or you don't have your PC on (surely not! ) I just wanted to wish you a very happy and successful trip; and hopefully some time for you and Andy to relax after all this hard work you've been putting into the house.
I know you've got a lot you want to achieve during this visit, but please try and find some time so that you can both enjoy where you are staying (especially that pool )

Hopefully you'll find an e-mail within the hour; but if not, buen viaje and mucha suerte!

Sending you love and hugs,
from Sam xx

Hi, we are also considering moving to Andalucia, preferably somewhere between Granada and the Coast, Lecrin Valley, Las Alpujarras area. We have two small children and would like to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle the area has to offer. And the weather!
I am self employed builder, mainly working in renovation of older properties and masonry work, I also supply and fit garage doors.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the work prospects are like in these areas?
