The people who go because they dislike the UK are usually the ones who don't stay long.
I've long ago lost count of the number of loud mouths I've met over the years, recently arrived in Spain, who spent much of their first few weeks or months sitting in bars slagging off the UK and looking on Spain as a bed of Roses. At a guess I would say it normally takes on average six months, often less, before total disillusionment sets in and they're on their bikes back to Blighty. |

Re: Moving to Almeria
No not all Andy, I'm not aware that I ever met you in a Spanish bar and I give you credit for having a sight more intelligence than the guys I refer to.
However as others have mentioned don't think Spain is all plain sailing in comparison to the UK. I would say take careful note of posts 34 and 36. There are equally good and bad areas in both countries to bring up a family, but as mentioned the quality of the education system should be a major consideration and I have come across numerous Spanish families who are less than happy with the standards of their own kids education. |
