Moveing back to UK with 2 cats
Hi.
I am currently looking into returning back to the UK because of illness (as i posted a couple of weeks ago) and i have decided to go through with it.
My question this time is about my 2 cats, does anyone know a cheap and cheerfull company that would transport them from Cádiz to Devon? Or any cat lover going back to England with space to spare that would take them for a reasonable price of course.
I really do not have a huge amount of money for the operation as my illness has not let me work for 10 years and the spanish benefits are not that good, and with moveing my personal items, flights, etc i really cannot afford what the specialist companys are asking to take my babies. I cannot just leave them here as they have been brought up with me and helped me alot with my illness. This is why it is so important i get them over to me.
I hope someone can help me out!!!
Thanks in advance

All of your other posts have been in the Moving back to the UK section and I think that it would be a good idea for you to put a thread in there as well as here because you will have different people reading it in the two sections.
Good luck with the move and I hope that your health improves.
Edit: I have copied the thread and put it in Moving back to the UK to save you the hassle, so you can now look in both sections for replies.

Hi,
There are a number of pet couriers who can arrange to fly your cats back or take them by road. It is not cheap, but if your cats are important to you then it's the best option. I sent mine back with this company: pet transport services | Animalcouriers and was very happy with the service. They pick the cats up and drop them off at your new home, taking a few days to get there, during which time you can finish packing up and fly back yourself. After many years living in Spain moving back was a big challenge for me, so being able to bring my cats really helped me to cope. I also brought back furniture and personal possessions, but with hindsight I could have saved money and just brought back the minimum as most things can be replaced in the UK e.g. many charity shops selling furniture cheaply.
Another thing you need to think about is getting your cats ready in time with pet passports and rabies shots. Check out the Defra website for details. So I recommend planning well and bite the bullet about cost. Good luck with everything!

Hi thanks for the post.... I have actually just arrived in the UK with my cats last week, i used USHIP.COM and found a courier to drive them here, he was not allowed to mix pets with personal items as it is forbbiden in France and UK but he did bring my cats and 4 boxes of personal items for me anyway.
I thought about furniture, kitchen items, etc but like yopu say, there are so many charity shops here to rebuy, i decided to just bring very personal things and clothes.
I planned well and kept costs to minimum of just 500 euros courier + chips, passports, raibies ing at around 75 euros more... so under 600 euros it can be done.
If anyone whants to use a courier then i recomend a guy called Ivan by Nesven. he is on uship and is a very correct person and helpfull... a little late on arrival but not his fault as roadworks and traffic arnt allways great.
Now i have to try to get used to the UK liveing as i have been liveing in Spain for over 27 years and do not know anything in the UK other than the language jajaja
Anyway thanks again for the quote and good luck

Well done to you for achieving so much in so little time, despite your condition. Good luck for the future.
