move to Pollensa
Hi, my daughter has bought a Finca in Pollensa, lots of update and renovating needed, can anybody help with contact details of a good plumber, electrician, joiner? Very grateful to receive any advise, how to get started would be good. Need to know about purchasing beds asap, second hand would be good for now.
Many thanks, Regards, Cazb

Re: move to Pollensa
Hi and welcome.
Nice area Pollenca. Yes, fincas generally require "upgrading" (especially the ones you can afford )
I know quite a few who do various types of work you're needing. There is one chap though, who does very good work, sort of as a "hobby" really, he just loves doing up houses, and doesn't charge much. He also knows where to get everything - and that's important, because prices vary wildly on most things around here. It's easy to overpay. I'll ask if I can give you his contact info, and if he says yes, I'll PM you with it.
As far as beds go, the main problem with second-hand beds is that the Spanish standard is 190cm length, which is not quite enough for most northern Europeans. I'd suggest looking at Ikea first, as they do offer some decent values. The "British" bed stores are astronomically expensive, and frankly, I find the Ikea beds to be every bit as comfortable and theraputic (well, the mid-priced ones and up, anyway). Otherwise, I'd get on ebay.es or segundamano.es and see what you can find on the island.
Again, welcome to our little rock. I'll let you know what I find out...
