Motorcycle Track days

Hi all does anyone know where to get information on track days in the Costa Del Sol or Jerez area as I keep missing out on them. Thanks

Re: Motorcycle Track days

The reason I ask is, a fella at some traffic lights asked if I was off to the Track day at Jerez, to which I replied eh!. I got the feeling it wasnt a Bike Del Sol organised trip as I was in Gibraltar at the time, and he was local. So does anyone know of a just turn up and ride sort of thing at Jerez?

Re: Motorcycle Track days

Have you checked the Jerez website, they have a calendar of all the trackdays going on? I'd suggest that you do the same for the other circuits, although being Spain it's not always the first thing on their list of things to update (our days are rarely on the Guadix website)

I have yes and nothing matched that date, something must have been on as there was too many bikes leaving Gib morning, some on trailers. I was off to work!!::frown:

I was at the Estoril MotoGP this year and a local told me the race was moving south to the Faro area, and that was decided before the new track was even completed.

well i think the school days would be better if they do them, at least they actually do try and help you with the riding aspects, i thought track days were just turning up with your own bike and getting out there

Re: Motorcycle Track days

Track days at Jerez at least involve you turning up and your bike must pass a full safety check before being allowed anywhere near the track.

Yes I suppose your right, I'm not getting to far trying to teach myself. Wrapped a car around a tree a few years back, and it told me I was mortal after all. So scared of cars so bought a bike instead, much safer:)

makes perfect sense:blink::rofl:
i just think the schools like haslams at donnington are so much better, you get a loaner bike and proper instruction, amazing how much quicker you get through the day!

Just imagine if you wrapped the bike around the tree instead, you wouldn't be posting here!

Nah Nah Nah not listening, bikers don't get hurt. They leathers just get smaller. Or was that old????

Through France too, ie not the Spain to UK ferries ??

ShinyAndy Jul 8th 2008 2:31 am

Re: Motorcycle Track days

You're probably right actually.. all the ones I've ever come across go round corners so damn slowly that there's no chance they'd hurt themselves :p

Fair enough. We do find the Biscay crossing is a wonderful break for a couple of sore butts.

Re: Motorcycle Track days

Longest I have ever done is to Estoril 500 miles i one go, my pillion has done 5yes 5 miles in one go, and that was for a coffe in Sotogrande tough eh!

Re: Motorcycle Track days

When on a trek, we stop at half tank and empty tank which means roughly every 80 miles but then we did 4400 kms last August, two up all the way and it was fun. Except for the Glasgow rain.

Re: Motorcycle Track days

I thought you biker types were all hard and tough?

I drove from Stafford to Barcelona in a Caterham, in the summer and only stopped to fill it up with fuel (this was quite often!) and the ferry crossing at Dover.

13 hours of non-stop hell :D

INTHEPREM Jul 8th 2008 3:09 am

Re: Motorcycle Track days

I'm just gonna go for it, get a good sat nav, Major stops will be Barcelona and cos its the misses on the back Paris, the rest of the stops will be what I find on the way.

Does anyone know whether you can just turn up and board the Eurotunnel, this seams the quickest n cheapest method with a bike.

There is the difference ShinyAndy, admittedly with 18 hours of ferry break in the middle but Sevilla to Perth, Scotland = 18 hours of non-stop pleasure, apart from the Glasgow rain and the overnight pleasures too ;)
