When i retire ,fingers x,at 62 and living in spain what is the ideal income/pension threshold to pay tax? I have NO problem paying tax on my savings but like everyone else you dont want to be seen mugging yourself and paying tax for the fun of it. Sad as it sounds i have countless books on the subject 'Retiring to Spain'
i hope you dont feel used, after all it is a forum, any recommendations on what to read just incase i have missed anything. I have just ordered a book by Blevins Frank? A so called money expert book???...... Such an anorak i am!
All the best you lucky people....
Cheers Keith.
No, it is called being sensible and doing loads of research. It is impossible to do too much research.

These are the current allowances, but they will all change next year.

Personal allowance 5151
Over 65 918
Over 75 2040
1St Child 1836
2nd Child 2040
3rd Child 3672
4th and subsequent 4182
General allowance 4080 – 2652 (sliding scale on incomes from 9180 – 13260) Income includes savings.

I have the Blevins book and it is probably the best guide available.
