Default Missing Spanish 5 year old in Huelva.

A 5 year old girl has been reported missing in the province of Huelva, Andulucia.

She was reported missing on Sunday the 13/1.

Her name is Mari Luz Cortes, she disappeared after leaving her home to buy a packet of crisps in her local Kiosko in Torrejon.

The kiosk owner remembers seeing her set off home, but she failed to arrive.

Such a shame that on MSN they have not put a picture of Mari but used a photo of Madeleine. It would be far more useful to have a photo of Mari so that people could look out for her.

you are right Rosemary,
i just looked it up and all the stories in the news either have maddie's pic on and/or mention the mccans (excuse spelling) in the title rather than the little girls name.

Saying that as I came back into Ayamonte about 5mins ago, lots of Police.....!!!! Big roadblock , but I would of thought they would of stopped people at the bridge rather than just going into Ayamonte!!!!!!!!

Yes, I agree with your sentiments.
Good work, lee8, for posting the information on the missing Irish teenager, Amy, and this small child, MariLuz. Could you make this thread into a "sticky", jdr?
There are other children missing in Gran Canaria, too.

Thanks for making this into a sticky, jdr! (or was it one of the other mods?)

David, I saw on the website for HuelvaInformacion that the Ayamonte connection was a false alarm.

Yesterday's Espana Directo program reported about another parent in Motril (Granada) whose little boy came very close to being abducted. Only the other night, I was watching a drama about a car pulling up and snatching a child off the pavement!

It is alarming news; yet, sadly many young children and teenagers remain missing. Re: Gran Canaria. The names of the two missing children are Yeremi Vargas and Sara Morales.

Hi jdr
Really - that is a frightening amount of children - it breaks my heart to think that anyone could or want to hurt them.

Most of these are children running away from home, not ones that have been abducted, in fact abduction is extremely rare, The Irish Teenager is a running away suspect rather than an abduction, and many children do run away from home for a short time, even if it's only a few hours.

My eldest son did it once when he was about 8 years old - we knew it was serious coz he took his roller blades and his hockey stick (nothing else) - all the neighbours were out looking for him (it was hammering it down) - he was found nice and dry in the bus shelter down the road from our house - could have battered him.................but so glad to see him back - the little sod .
