Morning all,
I am a resident of Spain - who do I go to to have a Will drawn up? Is it an abogado? or a gestor? etc... Any idea of costs?
My OH is a resident of Gibraltar.....so I naturally would have assumed that he would have one drawn up in Gib......but he owns a property in Spain...would the Gibraltar Will cover the house in Spain.....or should he have a Will drawn up in Spain just for the house.... any ideas?
Many thanks, any help greatly appreciated

We went to an abogado for ours and it cost about 80 euros, I cannot remember how much it cost when I only had the one done but I think that it was about 50 euros.

We too used an abogado. My husband had his will redone in 2009 due to problems with his christian names and he was charged 150 euros for a very straight forward will which seems to be about the norm where we live in the high plains in the north of Granada Province.
When we had our original wills drawn up in Spain in 1992 we were still resident in the UK. At that time we were told that our UK wills would be OK but to be accepted in the event of a death we would have to have them officially translated into Spanish. This could cause problems with delays so it was easier to have Spanish wills drawn up for our Spanish property.
All this was some time ago now so it would probably be best to get some quotes from local abogados as to what they charge for wills. As you live in the Malaga area perhaps the consulate there could tell you if a Spanish will is needed for your OH who is a resident of Gibralter.
