Madrid - self catering Flat (advice)
Hello
Sorry to invade the board and hello to everyone. We are initially going to Madrid in a couple of months for a weeks recce (possibly moving there later)
Believe it or not we have never been there!
Just wondering if anyone had a links or hints on renting a Flat & what district to rent in. We are no spring chickens so really don't want to be around discos/clubs etc if possible and will be using public transport on this trip.
If anyone has and advice etc please email or pm me .
Thanks again
Karen

hi karen, lucky you, Madrid is lovely, my son lived there 12 months or so and poss moving back later this year. He lived near the Manuel Bercera metro station in Salamanca .This area is very residential ;lovely wide avenues and lots of old buildings with appts, corner bars, cafes, supermarkets, post office etc. Madrid has a fantastic metro system so anywhere near a metro you can travel across the city very easily. I visited him and went sightseeing on my own travelling on the metro felt very safe and quite a compact city. Will find out from him any tips on flat hunting. Good luck

Another good place to look is www.enalquiler.com/alquiler-pisos-madrid
It is all in Spanish but is easy to understand.
