C4 news have just reported that an arrest is 'imminent' on the Maddie case....

Reading the news this morning I beleive the mother will have the status of "arguida" like the first suspect...

I don't think it is an arrest - she's just going to be named as an official suspect. Up to now she has been questioned as a witness. Under Portuguese law, they have to make a distinction between witness and suspect so that the suspects rights are protected, which as a mere witness they wouldn't be (well, not in the same way)
He's up next apparently.

I haven't had a good feeling about this case, from the word go
Obviously, I have no proof about anything - it's simply a gut feeling
Of course, just because the Mum is being named as an official suspect, doesn't mean that they will find any evidence - so I suppose we'll all have to wait and see what happens??
Not sure if this thread will go anywhere, because the previous two ended up having to be closed because of some vitriolic posts.
Whatever the story is with this case, one can still only hope (but maybe in vain??) that this poor little girl might be found safe and well.

I was following the case on a psychic's website (Lynnxa posted the link ages ago)
Whatever people may believe, this chap seemed to have had a lot of success locating missing people.
However, eventually, one of the McCann family contacted him and asked him NOT to continue with the case!?!
Could have just been because they don't believe in psychics (although I believe there were others involved initially?)
Of course, it could have been that someone was worried that he might find something out??????
The plot thickens!

My God, what the hell is going on? We dont turn the tv on till later so miss the news. Am I reading correctly that the parents are now suspects? Must admit, OH has mentioned once or twice about them, very fishy indeed!!

Absolutely DF - and I always say the same about anyone who has their name dragged through the mud; regardless of how some other cases can appear fairly open and shut.
I also said the same about Robert Murat.
That's why I tried to put a balanced post
However, human nature (and not just the Press!) means that speculation is bound to be rife.
PS I do know that you're not "getting at" me, or anyone else for that matter.

We don't have a TV either, Lionda.
Have you tried looking at the BBC website, or Google news at all?
Just a suggestion
Yes, will certainly PM you the link.................IF you PM me your true identity!!

Having read this thread, rushed to switch on Sky news! Mrs M had just arrived at the police station for further questioning. She is expected to be named as an official suspect later. I feel so sad as I have carried this little girls face in my mind for weeks now, and have a "Missing Maddie" poster in the car. I still pray that she is found alive and well!
