Hi all, im new to this great site! Anyway, the title is pretty self explanatory! I got 3 original copies of my empadronamiento, gave 2 away and seem to have lost the 3rd. I remember hearing that you can't get any more originals once you have used up all 3, is that true? Do I need another or is it THAT important??

they have a 'shelf life' of 3 months anyway - so I wouldn't get one unless or until you need one

You can reapply for another, most town halls print them out there and then, you may need it for other admin issues so it is wise to keep one handy.

I've had several over the years needed for various things. Just go to your town hall.

oh really? Thanks for letting me know. I wonder why I was told that you only have those 3 and cant get any more? I don't have any copy of it so how do I get another? Will they just have it on file if i give them my name and address?

ah ok, thanks! Yes ive been here a year and only needed it twice. Once to enroll my daughter into public school, and again to get my NIE/resedencia. I wont bother unless I need it again.

Hi,
A good tip...
I always scan my documents and keep them on an SD card or even cd, it's handy as many times I have been asked for a photo copy of my Passport for instance. I can print them off any time I need them, I keep my originals safe and in good condition in case, but usually get away with just a copy.

We always have to go and get a new one printed out with the later date and stamp on it.
