Thanks for the suggestions, it's getting a bit technical for a tecniphobe? like me - I've seen the skype web cams so maybe will have another closer look, but really would still prefer to be able to buy credit somehow. There must be a simple answer, are there any simple people (apart from myself) out there?

I guess the simple answer is ...... get a Spanish credit card :)

It must be a man thing I would never have thought of that one! I am going to post on the lab as the comedian suggested today - there is an answer and someone must know it. Obviously it's not me or you though. Thanks for the advice though, appreciated.

Have had a similar problem trying to book flights!
We also have a tesco phone (rest of family got them too) and use that and skype combined over the same phone. We dont have a landline. May be able to get one in 2010!
I find that skype calls are quite cheap to landlines so am satisfied with that and tesco.

I'm simple hence the question, I have skpe use it regularly but have never sought credit.
what does credit bring you that normal skype use doesnt. The ability to ring non skype users presumably?

Is there anything else?

I have skype and use it also to call landlines in the UK and USA. Also to text UK
mobiles at 8 cents a minute instead of 60 cents from the phone. I buy credit with Pen Pal and get it automatically topped up when it goes low. Great idea. Am saving loads and loads on my phone bill.

Learning curve questions.

Pen Pal? Is that pay pal?
Texts, I thought they were paid by the message?

Anyway, I always thought the phone cards were the cheapest system, my mate uses them in New Zealand and I have used them in spain.
You know the one's, get so many minutes at a cheap rate, via the card and you dial the number on the card then the hone number you want.
