Think the area is great
We have bought in Almeria between Aguilas and Mojacar just outside a market Town called Huercal Overa..the other side of the Sierra de Las Estancias from you so not as inland as Los Cerricos
Nice detached villa on a 400m2 plot about 25 mins to coast in a small hamlet [probably simialr to Los Cerricos]
You know all the reasons for Almeria!
The area we have chosen is still very Spanish but not isolated and top facilities nearby [the hospital in Huercal Overa is one of the best in Spain
them
Properties are good value and we could have a bigger plot if we want
Decided on a new house instead of a Finca because of all the problems over title/water rights etc
Looking forward to our life in Almeria
Hope you find what you are looking for at Los Cerricos [little to inland for us! ]
