House we just bought has a very tired cooker, gas hob and electric oven. Would like to replace it with similar but don't want to spend a lot as the kitchen will be renovated at some future date (when we have won the lotto!). I've tried googling for second hand shops in Oliva or Gandia (our nearest towns) but can't find anything. Does anyone from that vicinity know of any second hand shops that does white goods?

There are few second hand shops in spain and most seem to be owned / frequented by Brits.

I have seen a website, something like 'segundomano.es' or similar, which you could try.

segundamano.es is great. New stuff listed every day. We are big buyers in our neighbourhood :-)

Thanks for all the replies. We'll keep an eye on segundamano.es and see if anything turns up on there in our vicinity.

Spanish kitchens are the real let down of most properties there, always seem about ten years behind the times.

I've had a look around a few second hand shops in Spain just out of curiousity, and quite honestly with the difference in price between what they price things at and buying new, I wouldn't bother buying a second hand one. Gas hobs in particular are very cheap to buy here although they may not be very hi-tech in appearance, to say the least.

Craigslist is very popular in the US. And it includes some sites in Spain: http://www.craigslist.org
There's also a similar Spanish site: http://www.loquo.com

Thanks for the additional info and special thanks to Domino and The Beast for their kind offers of free appliances. Alas, we're unlikely to take up either offer, kind as they are, due to location logistics.
