Parents eh. Always forgetting things (like the weather isn't that bad, 8 out of 10 fail etc.) and now they're forgetting their kids.

It hadn't occurred to me that all these kids roaming around searching for parents have been forgotten.

I know everybody forgets everything according to you Moses, but I hadn't thought that parents forget kids.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Well actually they do

The Costa del sol is awash with young British people who were brought out there by their parents and now find themselves 18-24 and nothing to do, or worse selling drugs and timeshare

Hi, and butting in from the France forum, but it's a universal question that affects all divorced parents, and all decisions depend on the answer:
Has the OP got permission from his children's mother to take one or both of them out of the UK?
It also struck me that the children have hardly been mentioned. I'm surprised that, assuming the OP does set up his business, no one has brought up the subject of throwing an 11-year-old in at the deep end in Spanish Secondary School, with no sister or English-speaking friends of her own age to help her cope, and her father with a demanding job and not much free time. An International School might ease the transition, but then the OP would have to budget for the fees.....

Look Horlic, I know we never agree and that's fine. We've had so many people on this forum dreaming of a move to Spain and all they see is sun & sangria. If people get offended so quickly and just want to hear the positive, don't post. Many people always say cricketman is rude, but most of the time he's honest. Do you think it's good to take a 15 year old out of school and go to Spain. Can she or he speak Spanish, or afford private schooling? What jobs are on offer for school leavers in Marbella who don't speak Spanish?

Look Moses, here again we are making stupid assumptions, If the paid attention to previous comments you would see I agreed that my 15 year old was better to say with my sister till she finished her G.C.S.E's which would be no trouble. As for my 11 year old. She will be going to a international school that my mum has volunteered to pay for her to go as if I was going to stay in the U.K. not that it's any of your business was going to go into private education as the school system now in this country is so shit. The laws are getting so ridiculous that aggressive and disruptive children in schools now rule the roost and even if there parents try to discipline them they hit redtape.
Why this has now become a conversation on my parenting is just ridiculous, I am pretty sure that a court would not have given me custody if I did not have their best interests at heart.
As far as kids there not having jobs and selling drugs etc. Clearly you haven't been here for a while. School leavers are running wild here, drug dealing, knife crime rising, no respect for the elderly, mugging old people, gang related crime even groups just jumping people in the streets for no good reason or sometimes killing those trying to protect their families.

This is going on everywhere so just stop chatting so much chuff.

On another note. Moses. Are you a parent? If so where are your kids? If they are grown up, do you have grand children? How often do you see them?

If Spain is such a bad place why are you all there. Or did you all just abandon your families?

I forgot to mention that my 15 year old finishes in June.

Again, not as it's any of your business. Their mother is a waster. Seen them 4 times in two years. I had her parental responsibility removed as she cant be arsed. I don't need anyone's permission as I am the only one with parental responsibility. Is that O.K for you!!!!

Again I am glad it is so funny to you. Think I am going to sit here and let you slag me off as a parent, you are absolutely nuts. I take my family very serious and to watch you talk about them like this is not going to happen. You seem to want to make it so personal, so lets do it.

I bet you are one of those who ran of with a mistress, abandoned his children. Never paid a penny to their upbringing or contributed and now sit here questioning someone who does it on his own. Good one!!!! haha :)

Well, I suppose it's better she stays in the UK (sorry I misread that). Spain is not a bad place, but I won't move to Spain until I've paid off the mortgage here and have a big chunk of money in my pocket to enjoy it. Even then, I'd rather keep my home here and go when it suits me.
