Default Looking for Expat in la linea, Spain

I'm very sorry to post this on this thread as I know this isn't the right thread but I have no idea how to start my own thread. I am desperately trying to find my best friend that moved to la linea Spain in 2009 with a man named John that she met on the Internet. Myself and her family have not heard from her since September 2009 and we don't know how to find her. Her name is Dorothy MacDonald and she is a registered nurse. She was living in Florida before moving to Spain. Please, I am begging, if anyone knows what I need to do to find her I would really appreciate any help.

I've moved your post to its own thread, and placed it in the Spanish forum rather than the Aussie one
Hopefully someone can help you.

As Concierge for the Spanish section of BE I would like to say hello and welcome.

BE is a very large expat website, so if you have problems finding your way around we have concierges who will try to direct you. The moderators for the Spanish forums are Mitzyboy and Fred James, moderators are there to ensure that the site runs smoothly within the rules of BE. Problems and complaints should always be addressed to a moderador who will look into the matter and deal with it efficiently and fairly. Our members who post in the Spain Forums are friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge of the issues of living in Spain. At the top of the page you will find a quirkily named thread called Free Beer which is full of important and useful information. Hope you enjoy your time participating in the forums.

Please let me know if you need any further help.

Rosemary

I am sorry you have lost contact with your friend. Where have you looked ? have you checked Facebook Twitter etc., is she registered as a missing person anywhere. Is there any reason to believe she is not safe ? may not want to be found ? The British Consulate maybe. I am sure there were some other good suggestions on another thread on here.

If they moved to La Linea they might be working in Gibraltar? La Linea is right on the border, and lots of English-speaking people who work in Gib live on the Spanish side of the border. You could try posting on the online newspapers and radio stations there, or even the hospital if she is a nurse?
