Default Looking for an auto Weight and sensor microwave ?

Hi People hope your all doing fine.

Looking for a microwave. Had a Panasonic 25 years ago when I lived in the mother land. Had all the gizmos and was a dream to use.

All I had to do was select pizza, jacket potatoe or whatever press start and that`s it. No finding out it`s weight.

I thought this would be easy because i could really use the quickness of a micro now. I found it is not easy , in fact nobody over here has ever heard of such a microwave. The sale assistant just looks at me with a glaze.

Anyone have any suggestions .

Thanks.

I know exactly what you mean!

Back in the UK I had a combination oven, grill, microwave and convection that worked just the way yours did and I loved it!

Sadly when we moved here I searched high and low for something similar....I'm afraid I never did find one, so I had to learn to weigh and work out cooking times for myself.

I really miss that oven!

I bought a stainless steel microwave from Lidl its also grill & convection oven. It does not weigh the items but you enter the weight and if its potatoes or chicken etc it runs for the necesary time. Cost about €75. model Silvercrest SMW 900 EDS A1. Instructions in different languages including english.

This seems to be the only one available.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-NN.../dp/B003DNSA26

Unfortunately they won't ship it to Spain and it isn't on the Amazon Spain site. If you check the Panasonic Spain site it isn't there either so presumably it isn't available in Spain at all.

Yes, I have seen that model but doesn`t have a pizza button - Odd !

Very cheap in English money , even in euros would be a steal. Panasonic Spain need a rethink on microwaves IMO.

These auto microwaves are the way to go for hassle free cooking.

It's a shame they haven't caught on here as they really are fantastic.
The one I had in England was somewhat bigger than the normal microwave and had auto settings and weighed and worked out cooking times for itself, it was my main cooker and was built-in with a microwave with grill above it.

When we moved here and had to buy a conventional cooker and a much smaller combi microwave it was like learning to cook all over again, I still miss the flexibility of my English set-up!

Personally I think the money is better spent on a decent large combination MW - the one with the grill and convection oven. We use ours more often as a second small oven than for its microwave facility and the combination of microwave and conventional oven at the same time makes it worth the extra.

It has auto cooking functions but you do have to weigh the food - not that arduous a task! I can't say we have ever used that apart from the defrost function which does require weight input.

Microwave ovens, particularly the more sophisticated ones are not so popular in Spain as in the UK. Not so long ago the Spanish didn't use ovens at all hence the fact the the cheaper ovens are pretty poor.

Small freestanding oven/grills seem to be more popular.

In our last kitchen we had a full size oven that also incorporated a microwave. Did the turkey a treat on combi.
When we replaced the kitchen we couldn't find another one so settled for a large combi.
Cannot understand why the don't appear to be produced anymore.

That is what mine was, but it had the auto programs and self weigh ability too, no more having to get the weigh scales out to work out how long to cook.
I had a smaller Microwave with grill fitted over the top.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear.

Yes I always cooked a 17lb turkey in mine that way, it always turned out tender and juicy.
I would have one again tomorrow....if I could buy one here!

Not the same thing at all, back in the UK quite some years ago mine cost £500, but perhaps that's why you can't buy them anymore.

Mine is like this.We got it shipped over by Littlewoods europe for only a fiver I think.

The first oven didnt last long, only a few weeks, but they sent another with no hassle and just told us to dump the other one.

We paid about 250 pounds for it. I couldnt be without it.

Hi all.

Been searching one last time for NN-ST479S microwave . However, Ihave drawn a blank. Seems no UK company ships that particular microwave oven to Spain.

Really need those auto cook features.

Damn shame !
